SEAMS OF HOPE
Seams of Hope is a local organization which raises awareness for DIPG and childhood cancer. Over the course of SSP, I volunteered to fundraise and make fleece tie blankets every week. These blankets are then sent in care packages to recently diagnosed children both locally and internationally. Please consider checking out the links below to learn more about Seams of Hope, DIPG, and pediatric cancer!

Gallery & Reflection

I spend around six hours making the blankets each week, neatly tying them with ribbon when complete. I also took a moment to make a how-to-guide for making the blankets so that people looking at my e-portfolio can join the blanket making for recently diagnosed pediatric cancer patients. This is valuable for both myself and other people because I have found blanket making to be a calming and peaceful experience and feel a sense of satisfaction when completing one, especially knowing that it will help to make a child's day a little better. I will use the knowledge I’ve learned about fundraising and volunteering—time management, positivity, and persistence—to continue to help my community and others in the future!
