The Perfect Mile

Hello, I'm Kate! I am a student at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School (BB&N) in Cambridge, MA, designing this portfolio for my Senior Spring Project (SSP). I was born in Virginia, lived in Kentucky, but now call Boston my home. When I am not in school, I enjoy spending my time outdoors—running, skiing, biking, and more!—or with friends and family.

While I look forward to beginning my major as a mechanical engineer next year, much of my SSP focuses on forming connections and discovering unique experiences.

FAQS

WHAT IS SSP?

SSP stands for Senior Spring Project: an opportunity which allows seniors to design their own schedules to explore outside of the classroom. Seniors are required to fulfill four main pillars,—Intellectual Engagement, New Experience, Wellness, and Community Engagement—engaging in them for at least five hours every week. Any project/activity which is beyond the pillar hours falls under "additional hours". The project ultimately helps seniors explore BB&N's values of inquiry, integrity, belonging, and kindness.

HOW DO I NAVIGATE THE SITE?

There are two ways to check out my activities in greater detail.

1) Click on the pillar name (ie "Wellness") at the top of the page. This is best for exploring my SSP pillar by pillar.

2) Click on one of the activity images above (to the right of "MY SSP"). This is best for exploring my SSP by activity.
